Radio Frequency

Over the past 20 years, the available radio spectrum has been extended to higher frequencies several times, reassigned, and is now generally much more densely occupied. This trend has for the most part been driven by new communications technologies, such as mobile phones and the digitalization of commercial radio services, and new media services like digital radio and TV, as well as by global wireless network access such as wireless LAN. Alongside this, electronic circuitry with ultra-fast processors, rapid regulator technology and microwave applications have filled the radio spectrum.
This trend is set to continue. Further liberalization of the spectrum along with the availability of even faster processors and circuits will lead to many more separate transmitters and emitters, more complex signal shapes, and even denser occupation of the spectrum. All this will further promote the parallel multiple use of individual frequencies or channels.
On the one hand, the signal quality and compliance with specified requirements needs to be monitored from a purely technical standpoint.

On the other hand, close proximity to population centers brings up the question of human exposure to radiation. This will result in new regulations, which will require expert know-how for their implementation. The nearness to each other of widely different electronic devices in factories, homes, and public buildings results increasingly in mutual interference between these devices. Demonstrating this electromagnetic (in)compatibility will remain a great technical challenge.
As well as this, the telecommunications spectrum is occupied by widely differing users, a distinction being made between wanted and unwanted, deliberate and accidental, acceptable and unacceptable, and permitted and prohibited transmissions and use of the spectrum. It must be assumed that both authorized and unauthorized use of the available spectrum will increase.
Our aim at Narda is to provide our clients with practical tools for solving the tasks connected with this, for demonstrating compatibility, and to identify spectrum users and disruptors.
